The popularity of short videos on social media is increasing day by day. TikTok, one of the platforms built on this trend, sets an example for its competitors with its success. Instagram, one of the competitors in question, introduced the Reels feature for short videos for a while.
However, according to the information revealed, the company has big plans for Reels videos. Wanting to attract more users, Instagram is preparing to pay content producers. So who will these payments be made to and how much will they be? Here are the details…
How much will Reels creators be paid?
According to TechCrunch and Business Insider reports, Instagram will pay high numbers to content creators for Reels videos. In July, the bonus program about Reels videos was announced. The company said that by 2022, payments to content producers will reach $1 billion.
The reports provided help us get a more specific estimate of the payouts for Reels videos. A screenshot shared in the Reddit post he pointed to in the TechCrunch report indicates that the Reels video will be given $35,000 for approximately 58 million views. This amount is in line with the offer made to Sam and Cori Werrell, who have 280,000 followers in Business Insider’s report.
Content producers with fewer followers and views are paid less. Maddy Corbin, who has nearly 52,000 followers, announced that she was offered up to $1,000. According to the report given by some other creators, offers are around $ 800 or $ 600.
Offered payment amounts can still vary. For example, a creator with 24,000 followers was offered $8,500 for nearly 9 million views, while another creator with 15,000 followers was offered the same. This is well above the offer made to Corbin, who has much more followers and views. In line with these results, it seems that the company has not yet established a definite system in the monitoring/payment equation.
