With the development of technology, we can say that especially visual-based artificial intelligence solutions have exploded, because there are billions of photos on social media and systems can be trained richly through them. Now, different projects started to come to the fore.
From Instagram photos to security cameras
A Belgian artist can see exactly where his Instagram photos were taken with an artificial intelligence solution he developed. Moreover, there is no need to set up any infrastructure for this.
How to freeze Instagram account?
To train the artificial intelligence called The Follower, Dries Depoorter used security camera platforms broadcasting on the internet. After the artificial intelligence trained with the recordings from these cameras, it also scanned the Instagram photos. In particular, Instagram posts shared near the area where the cameras are located were preferred.
Depoorter used cameras in popular spots in important cities such as Dublin, New York and Chicago. In addition, photos of phenomena with more than 100 thousand followers were studied.
The results obtained are quite interesting. It was seen that the areas and people where the photos were taken were very clearly identified. In other words, people can be detected by connecting numerous security cameras with a very large investment. This reminds me of the Person of Interest series. Of course, the privacy of personal data is overlooked in such cases.
