Instagram has quietly made a change to the ‘Gestures’ section that allows users to see the time spent on the social media platform. The lower limits in users’ daily time limit settings have been increased and updated to a minimum of 30 minutes.
It is unclear when the update was made
The platform launched the Movements section in 2018. From here, users can set the time they stay in the application at once to take a break, as well as choose daily times. Instagram went to an update daily without any announcement and increased the lower limit.
Previously, 10 or 15 minutes could be set as a daily time limit. Instagram has increased this limit to 30 minutes with the new update. Looking at the new options, starting from 30 minutes to 45 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours, for those who do not want to use the feature, the Turn Off option is also offered.
When Instagram made this update It is not known exactly, but it is thought that by increasing the lower limit, users can spend more time on the platform and thus longer ad views can be achieved.
