When Instagram first announced IGTV about 3 years ago, both the company and users had high expectations. This feature, which was expected to break new ground on the platform, unfortunately did not meet the expectations and content producers were far from producing something for IGTV.
The world’s most frequently used social media platform achieved the success it could not get from IGTV from Reels, which is called “do not hold”, and now it wants to reinforce this success with a feature that will replace IGTV. This feature, called ‘Instagram TV’, will allow content up to 60 minutes to be watched “vertically”.
Content producers will be able to profit from Instagram TV
Users could not tag locations and people to content broadcast on IGTV. According to the statement from the platform, all these problems will disappear with Instagram TV. The content will be displayed vertically, just like in Reels, and also features such as many filters and cropping will be offered to users.
Among the remarkable features of Instagram TV is increasing the preview time to 60 seconds and the video length to 60 minutes. At the same time, according to the statement made by Instagram, content producers will be able to earn through Instagram TV. The 1 billion dollars budget allocated by Facebook for content producers until the end of 2022 will also be used for Instagram TV.
