Months ago, a very interesting claim was made about Instagram when Facebook had not even formalized its metaverse plans yet. According to this claim, Instagram was developing its own NFT platform. There was even a great tension between Instagram and artists.
After this claim, while there was no new development about Instagram and NFT, Facebook, the roof company, changed its name to Meta. It has announced that it will also offer NFTs in the metaverse in the future. After this announcement, the Instagram and NFT duo were brought together by official mouths this time.
“Nothing to announce yet”
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced over the weekend that they are considering developing some features for Instagram that include NFTs. “There’s nothing to announce yet, but we’re definitely actively exploring how we can make NFTs more accessible to a wider audience. ” he used the words.
Although Mosseri does not go into too much detail in his Instagram account, the tools he mentioned will most likely offer features such as creating NFTs, exhibiting, selling and following their favorite artists. The first screenshot of this was shared last July.
In the screenshot shared by application developer Alessandro Paluzzi, it was seen that an image was auctioned as NFT and was able to bid. Paluzzi also announced that Instagram will support Metamask, Coinbase and Facebook’s Novi wallets.
