Social media platform Instagram is launching a new feature. Announced as Special Story Likes, the feature allows a user to like their story without sending a DM. The new feature can make interaction through a story less complex.

Like a story without DMing

Until now, replying to a story was only possible by typing a message from the box at the bottom of the story or reacting with an emoji, but either way it was sent to the story owner’s DM box. .

Instagram has announced that it has started rolling out a feature that can simplify users’ DM box. Announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri, Private Story Likes make it possible to like a story without sending a DM.

With the new feature, a heart icon will appear next to the text box at the bottom when viewing a user’s story. When users want to like the story, they only have to tap this button once.

The number of likes will not be seen by those who view the story. On the other hand, story owners will be able to see the people who have liked their stories from the page they are looking at. Custom Story Likes will be gradually rolled out to all users.
