Instagram banned the adult content platform Pornhub’s account last September, without fully explaining why. While there has been no development on the subject since September, a new incident occurred ‘accidentally’ last weekend.
Instagram lifted the ban on Pornhub’s account on Sunday, but re-banned the account very soon. Speaking to TechCrunch, an Instagram spokesperson explained that the incident occurred as a result of error.
Instagram spokesperson’s statement:
“As we said before, we have permanently banned this Instagram account for repeatedly violating our policies.”
Policies have been violated multiple times according to Instagram, never according to Pornhub:
Although Instagram argued that Pornhub violated the policies, a spokesperson for Pornhub argued that the platform’s Instagram account did not violate any policies and rules. To date, Instagram has not shared exactly what policies or rules the account violates.
