Introducing the Galaxy Z Fold 3 model, the first foldable phone with an under-screen camera, Samsung will come up with a new model according to leaks. Samsung will offer users a larger screen experience with the device called Tri-Fold.

After Huawei, Samsung and Xiaomi, it turned out that Honor is also working on a foldable phone. Attracting attention with its innovative approach to the foldable device, Samsung has started to develop a unique model.

Samsung will offer a bigger screen experience with Tri-Fold

TCL, which appeared in 2020 with its prototype model called Trifold, has a screen size of 6.5 inches when folded and 10 inches when open. Unfortunately, it is not known whether the device, which has not yet been released due to being a prototype, will reach the end user.

Models with similar features such as Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold, Huawei Mate X2 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 have a large share in the foldable phone market. Working to increase its market share and improve the user experience, Samsung rolled up its sleeves for the device that can be folded twice.

The patent application filed by Samsung to the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) on March 26, 2021 was recently published on WIPO’s website. The application, titled “Method of sharing the battery in an electronic device”, consists of a 72-page document.

Examining the application, the LetsGoDigital team found that Samsung is working on a double-folding phone with reverse wireless charging technology. Reverse wireless charging, which first appeared in Galaxy S series and Note series devices, allows users to use their smartphones as a powerbank.

Unfortunately, it is not known under which name the Tri-Fold model developed by Samsung will be released. Some analysts predict that the new model will be introduced after 2023.
