Until today, we have seen that ARM processors are used in many areas such as servers and integrated systems, apart from mobile devices, but it has gradually started to be integrated into motherboards. Gigabyte has announced the industry’s first motherboard with ARM processors.
Gigabyte MP72-HB0 is the first in the industry
Collaborating with Ampere Computing, Gigabyte has decided to integrate ARM processors into its new generation motherboards. Gigabyte MP72-HB0 motherboard model will easily get rid of cloud loads with its Ampere Altra Max processor.
232-layer NAND from Micron
The Ampere Altra Max processor houses two 128-core dice. The processor, which has 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes, can reach 250W TDP on a single die. It comes with 8 channel DDR4-3200 RAM support as well as cloud applications.
The Gigabyte MP72-HB0 E-ATX dual-socket motherboard model has 16 channel DDR4 DIMM modules, 4 PCIe 4.0 slots, 6 storage expansion slots, and 3 LAN ports.
Apart from this, G242-P35 and G242-P36 single socket servers offering up to 120TB of storage were also introduced. Servers with 1600W 80+ Platinum power supply are equipped with 128-core Ampere Altra or 256-core Ampere Altra Max processors.
