Four months are left for the release of the highly anticipated iPhone 15 series. As the launch approaches, the number of news about the subject is increasing. Finally, it has been reported that Indian Tata Group is preparing to become Apple’s fourth contracted iPhone manufacturer.

According to TrendForce’s report, Tata Group first received orders for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. The Mumbai-based company has reportedly received an order equivalent to 5% of all iPhone 15 and 15 Plus units to be produced in 2023.

bought Wistron’s iPhone production line

The remaining 95% will be covered by three other suppliers: Foxconn, Pegatron and Luxshare. Tata Group had bought a factory previously owned by Wistron. With this move, the company has the capacity to produce an iPhone.

Foxconn and Pegatron will undertake the production of the iPhone 15 Pro. In the assembly of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the weight will again be on Foxconn. This time, Luxshare will accompany Apple’s main business partner. India is extremely critical for Apple, which is working on expanding its production geography, especially due to the US-China tension.
