Chinese companies operating in India are being raided by the financial forces one after the other. An investigation has now been launched against Oppo for the accusations that Xiaomi and Vivo transferred unauthorized foreign currency assets abroad.
Giant penalty to Oppo
The Indian government claims that Oppo is evading taxes by making false statements on products imported from China for smartphone production. He also paid by excluding license fees from import invoices, which he should have included.
While security forces searched Oppo’s offices, its management was also summoned to testify. The Ministry of Finance states that the state has been damaged and seeks compensation of approximately 551 million dollars.
After the border conflict between India and China in 2020, Chinese companies were closely marked. While TikTok was banned in the country, access to numerous applications was blocked. The tension doesn’t seem to drop much.
