The popular social media platform Twitter continues its efforts to increase the experience of users in the application. A month ago, the company announced that it had developed automatic subtitle support to make it easier for hearing impaired individuals to understand videos on Twitter. In addition, among the innovations Twitter is working on: There is a TikTok-style vertical Explore tab.
The social media company has now taken over the design of the homepage. As it is known, when you open Twitter’s mobile application, the home page with new tweets appears automatically. In order to find something you are looking for on the platform, you need to enter the Explore tab and use the search bar there. But this process will soon become simpler.
Search button coming to Twitter homepage
The US social media company announced that it added a search button to the upper right corner of Twitter’s homepage. Thanks to the new feature, which is still in the testing phase and opened to the access of a group of iOS users, the need to enter Explore to search on the platform will be eliminated.
Twitter plans to bring the search feature to the homepage in two different ways. According to the first test, a long, thin search bar will be placed on the top tab of the home screen. In the second method, it seems that a round search button has been added to the upper right corner of the screen. However, it is not yet clear which of these two usage patterns will prevail. The company stated that it will offer a different view to each user.
The company said it is testing the new feature in Twitter’s iOS app. But he did not share when it will be made available to the general public. Therefore, if you do not see a search button on the home page, you may have to wait for a while.
The TikTok-style Discover feature is also in the test
Twitter will soon remove the COVID-19, News, Sports and Entertainment tabs that were present in the old version of Discover. The new interface, which has a cleaner and simpler appearance, will now have only the “Trend” and “For You” sections. The new feature, which started the testing process in India, will soon be launched globally.
