Stolen information revealed
In a statement, Getir announced that within the scope of the investigations they carried out, links (URLs) containing some personal data allegedly belonging to Getir customers were included in illegal internet environments on March 23, March 25, March 31, April 01, April 08 and April 11, 2023. It has been announced that this information sold in environments such as the Dark Web includes the following information:
- Identity Information: Name, surname, TR identity number, gender registered with Getir
- Contact Information: GSM number registered to Getir, e-mail address, delivery address
- Account Information: Fetch customer number and account creation date
- Customer Transaction Information: Order information consisting of the last order date and number placed in the Get application application, the brought vertical (such as Bring, BringBig, GetirFood, etc.), the order content, the number of canceled orders and the total number of orders.
- Other information: The date and location of the last login to Getir, the communication permissions granted to Getir, some of the information you allow to be shared with Getir if you have linked your social media profile to your Getir account.
Credit card information is safe
According to the statement made by Getir, the credit card information of Getir users is safe: “Your credit card information is not stored in your Getir account, but in the Masterpass infrastructure of Mastercard, Getir’s payment solution provider.”
Getir said that they contain some of their card numbers (last 4 digits), the remaining important information is in the Masterpass system and they do not have access to them due to legislation. Therefore, within the event, any financial data belonging to the users or personal one-time password information used for logging into the Getir account, etc. No sensitive data was leaked.
