Panasonic TOUGHBOOK and Circular Computing announced a collaboration that will take the sustainability of rugged computing devices to a new level. This collaboration brings together the leading European IT device provider and the world’s first company that reproduces laptops to extend the lifespan of durable technology devices and create a more ethical, sustainable and socially responsible way.
Circular Computing will reproduce TOUGHBOOK devices. Its first model, the TOUGHBOOK G1, is scheduled to be launched in mid-2022. The company will take old TOUGHBOOK devices and remanufacture them, increasing their lifespan. In this way, it will significantly increase sustainability and reduce carbon emissions. It is estimated that each TOUGHBOOK G1 that will be re-manufactured and used for the second time will save 316 kg in carbon emissions.
Circular Computing will pass each device through an extensive remanufacturing process of more than 5 hours and 360-degree quality testing to ensure high quality and good experience. The devices will be reproduced to BS8887 standards by fully qualified technicians at Circular Computing’s most advanced and specialized manufacturing facility.
Circular Computing, the first company in the world to have BSI KITEMARK certified remanufacturing processes for laptops, guarantees that every device will offer the same quality even in large volume productions, and all TOUGHBOOK devices are renewed with exacting quality standards as well as comprehensive cosmetic details. Circular Computing’s remanufactured consumer laptops are preferred by small and medium-sized companies that are environmentally conscious, in the education sector, and have limited budgets.
Panasonic Enterprise Mobile Solutions Europe Operations Director, Kevin Jones, said: “We are delighted to be the first durable device provider to seize the environmentally sustainable opportunity with Circular Computing. With this collaboration, we aim to ensure that our customers and channel providers do not throw away TOUGHBOOK in the future. “

This collaboration with Panasonic is great news for us as an industry, consumer and company. Reproducing a durable device is more complex than an ordinary laptop, but both Panasonic and Circular Computing are working to solve problems and contribute to a better world through sustainable use of technology. stretch,” he says.
