Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, shared new announcements for various altcoins, including Shiba Inu (SHIB). Here are the details…
BTC and SHIB payments now available in Latin America with Binance Card
Bitcoin and Shiba Inu holders can now use their coins for payments in Argentina. MasterCard CEO Michael Miebach announced in a tweet Tuesday that the firm has formed a partnership with Binance to launch the Binance prepaid card at the giant in Argentina. As we have also reported as Kriptokoin.com, Binance Card added support for Shiba Inu on August 5th.
To qualify for the card in Argentina, users must reside in Argentina. They must also verify their Binance account with a valid national ID, Documento Nacional de Identidad. Then users can order the card directly from the Binance Card website or Binance.com. It’s worth noting that payments are a missing link for the broader crypto industry, and many believe it will drive wider adoption.
As a result, it is expected that crypto and Shiba Inu adoption will increase in Argentina with the launch of Binance Card. Notably, unlike Binance Card in various parts of Europe, which is supported by Visa, Binance Card in Argentina is supported by more than 90 million traders worldwide. In addition, users can use both cards for both in-store and online payments.
Binance adds XRP to its ‘Learn and Earn’ program
On the other hand, XRP is now included in Binance’s “Learn and Earn” program. The exchange announced that it will include a course on XRPL in its popular learn and earn program. The program aims to help exchange users become familiar with the workings of various crypto networks in the industry and make the right decisions when choosing tokens to invest in. The current round of learn and earn program launched on August 22 and is expected to run until August 30.
Users must meet certain criteria to participate in XRPL Ledger related courses and quiz program. They must first complete a KYC verification process After that, users can start reading articles, watching videos and completing quizzes to get free crypto. Won rewards will be distributed to users within 48 hours of their participation.
FLOW update supported
Binance also announced that it will support the Flow (FLOW) update and hard fork. The Flow (FLOW) network upgrade and hard fork will take place on August 24 at 18 CEST. FLOW’s deposits and withdrawals will also be suspended from today, approximately 17. FLOW trading will not be affected during network upgrade and hard fork. Binance will take care of all relevant technical requirements for all users holding FLOW in their account.
Not SHIB: Will Ethereum trading be free?
Finally, the exchange announced that Ethereum trading will soon be free on Binance, just like Bitcoin trading. According to the statement, starting from August 26, you will not pay any fees when trading the spot trading pair ETH/BUSD.
