The Governor of the Central Bank of France, François Villeroy de Galhau, believes that more CBDCs will emerge in three to five years.

Galhau responded to the CBDC question he received at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The question that came up was whether there would be a CBDC that would become a superior system.

“We have several experiments not far from that. They have not been generalized yet, but it could be in the next three years”

IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva stressed that CBDCs will be very common around the world in the next five years.

Georgieva also referred to the collapse in the Terra network:

“When someone promises you 20% return on something that is not backed by any asset, what do we call it? Pyramid”

He also said that people should not view everything in the digital currency world negatively.
