Maiden’s Tower, one of the most important symbols of Istanbul, has been under restoration since 2021. The long restoration process came to an end recently, and the skeleton and protective net surrounding the Maiden’s Tower were removed.
The state of the Maiden’s Tower after restoration caused some reactions because it was not similar to its previous state. On the other hand, this time, the lighting of the Maiden’s Tower started a separate discussion. Lighting, which looks like poor quality RGB player equipment, was also a title in Ekşi Sözlük.
The lighting of the Maiden’s Tower looks like this:

Reactions to lighting:
Here’s an explanation for why the lighting looks bad:
Yahya Coşkun, Deputy Director General of Cultural Heritage and Museums, shared a post on his Twitter account after the issue became the agenda, and explained the reason for the controversial lighting. According to Coşkun’s statement, the photo in question was taken during the trials of the light shows at the opening tomorrow. So don’t worry; The Maiden’s Tower will not be illuminated in this way. Of course, we do not yet know whether the actual lighting will be better or worse.
