Instagram came to the fore with a big interruption yesterday evening. Late at night, users started accessing the platform again. According to the statement, the videos in IGTV and normal stream were combined under the name of Instagram Video.
The Instagram Video tab is displayed on users’ profile, right next to the Reels icon. With this change, people will have access to a new and improved video interface. The company will also add new features to help people make video creation smoother, with cropping, filters, contacts and geotagging for videos.

Facebook spokesperson named Alexandru Voica shared the new video feature coming to Instagram with her followers on her Twitter account. Voica’s statements include:
“Starting today, we’re combining IGTV and streaming videos into one format: Instagram Video! Also, to make it easier for people to discover new video content, we are introducing a new Video tab to your profile where this combined video format will live. ”

Half of the time users spend on Instagram is completed by watching videos, according to research. The new video feature launched today also indicates that the company will now invest more in this area.
Instagram begins trialling Chosen People feature
Alongside this new feature, Instagram has recently started testing a new approach for Close Friends called “Chosen Contacts”. This functionality is currently being tested in Brazil as a rename of the Close Friends feature. This will work similarly to the Close Friends list, except that you can unmark users of this list on some posts. The feature can be used as follows:
- Open the Instagram Stories tab. Upload a photo or video. Click the Share button.
- Tick “Selected People” to see all the profiles you want to see your story.
- Change who can see your Story by selecting or unchecking profiles.
- Your list will remain unchanged until reorganized.
