READING NOW If you’re looking for a simple game that will relieve you of stress, Slow Roads, free to play in the browser, is for you.

A few days ago, Edinburgh, Scotland-based developer named Anslo announced Slow Roads, a free easy driving game with procedurally generated scenic landscapes that only runs in a web browser. The game is available at Slowroads.io and does not require any login or download to play.

Many driving video games trap you in rules that can make driving stressful, which may sound great if you’re in the ambitious mood. But sometimes you just want to relax and enjoy the ride. This is where Slow Roads comes in. You don’t crash, fail, or race against time in the game. You just drive and relax.

The road stretches to infinity as the landscapes around you rush through. If you take the steering wheel off the road, you can reset your vehicle’s position by pressing the “R” button. The roads in the game can also change according to your desire and mood; If you want, you can drive your car even off-road or under water.

The game works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge browsers

Driving controls in Slow Roads are simple. You can use the standard WASD keys or the arrow keys on your keyboard to operate your tool. “W” (or up arrow) is for acceleration and “S” (or down arrow) is for braking. “A” and “D” (or left and right arrows) allow you to control the steering wheel. You can add power to your vehicle by holding down the Shift key or tapping “W” twice. In addition, the “C” changes the camera angle, and the “Q” and “E” keys toggle between current weather and light conditions. And if keyboard controls aren’t for you, you can switch to mouse-based steering instead.

You can access the game from this address.
