If You Keep Closing Background Apps On Your iPhone, You Won’t Do It Again After Reading This Content!

Cleaning apps that are open in the background is a habit for many of us. In particular, even when we look at our parents' phones and see dozens of applications left open behind, we get annoyed and immediately clean them. But if you're an iPhone user, this does more harm than good.

Many of us are of the opinion that the applications that remain open in the background will quickly drain the battery or reduce the functionality of the phone. If you’re an Android user, you might be right, but on the iPhone, it works the other way around.

In short; This action you take thinking of your phone may be causing more damage to it. Moreover, there are multiple reasons. Let’s look at these reasons together.

You are doing the opposite of what the company intended.

The “app switcher” on iPhones is designed to be user-friendly. Its ultimate goal is to make it more convenient to access apps you have opened before.

When you repeatedly close your apps from the app switcher, they will reopen every time. This prevents the application switcher from achieving its intended purpose.

We think that every app in the app switcher continues to run in the background, but that’s not true, it’s just a common belief.

On iPhones, after switching to a different app, some apps continue to run for a very short time before they become suspended.

It is then suspended and does not use system resources. In short, it becomes passive. If you close and open these applications each time, you will force your phone to work harder.

You make the apps you use less useful.

Imagine sending a message to your friend on WhatsApp and closing the application each time after sending the message. The time it takes to open WhatsApp over and over may seem small, but when you consider the number of messages in a day, it takes a long time.

This also negatively affects battery life. In other words, using WhatsApp without closing it every time saves both time and battery life.

You prevent iOS from managing processes for you.

Like any computer, the iPhone has a limited amount of RAM that it uses to store running processes. iOS regularly removes apps from RAM when they’re not needed, so there’s always space available for new apps you launch.

If Apple wanted this, it would have offered an easier option.

While there is such an option on non-Apple phones, the absence of an option such as “close all” in Apple’s application switcher tells indirectly how the company wants to run this feature.

If the company had asked you to close your apps regularly, it would probably offer such an option. Also, Apple’s support page states that you should close an app only if it’s unresponsive.

In short, you should stop closing apps on your iPhone constantly.

You should not instantly swipe up all the apps in the app switcher. Doing so prevents iOS from working as intended, and does more disadvantage than advantage. Now you can leave your iPhone parent’s phones alone!
