The German Meteorological Office announced that they have issued warnings about the hurricane, which they expect to reach the North Sea coasts as of Saturday evening. The situation is not different in other European countries. The storm continues to show its effects in France, Amsterdam and the Netherlands, and meteorological offices continue to warn citizens to be careful.

The speed of the wind increased to 141 km per hour

The hurricane, called ‘Zeynep’ in Germany, caused at least 12 deaths in the country. While the rescue efforts and warnings continued, the wind speed increased to 141 km per hour. Two people died in car crashes caused by tornadoes in Germany. Trees that fell due to hurricanes in many countries caused disruptions in transportation by rail and air routes. Germany announced that the hurricane will continue until Monday and train services to Dortmund, Hannover, Berlin and Halle/Leipzig have been cancelled.

The situation is no different in the Netherlands, Amsterdam and France. It was reported that at least 4 people died in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam, 4 people died due to the fallen trees. In France, 11 people were injured due to the hurricane and it was announced that 130,000 households could not be supplied with electricity. Authorities continue to warn that they should stay at home.

While the wind speed exceeds 140 km in many countries, countries continue to cancel their plane and train services. People are advised not to leave their homes unless they have to. A red alert has been declared in many countries.
