The long-standing price hikes in video card prices have finally started to recede. Another good news has come for Nvidia graphics cards, which have fallen to the MSRP (recommended retail price) level. It has been learned that Nvidia’s production partners will go for “hundreds of dollars” price cuts.
Nvidia RTX 30 prices will fall to unexpected levels
In recent months, we’ve seen discounts on both AMD and Nvidia graphics card models. Decreasing interest in cryptocurrency mining and increasing stocks at the same time allowed graphics card prices to fall below the MSRP.
New information from Nvidia’s Chinese production partners has revealed that the prices of the RTX 30 series will become even cheaper. As the next-generation AMD Radeon RX 7000 and GeForce RTX 40 series will be announced in the coming weeks, Nvidia is looking to reduce its stock of the RTX 30.
The Nvidia RTX 30 series, which first became cheaper in mid-July, will receive extra discounts from manufacturers next week. Since these discounts will be applied by Chinese manufacturers, it is expected to affect the whole world.
Allegedly, Nvidia wants to increase sales on its high-end models before offering the next generation graphics cards. Because of this, it will run campaigns for the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti/3090/3090 Ti for a limited time at “hundreds of dollars below MSRP”.
On the AMD side, such sharp price drops are not expected. However, it should be reminded that AMD graphics cards have been sold at or below the MSRP level for a long time. It’s unclear when Nvidia and its manufacturing partners will implement the “hundreds of dollars discounts.”
