Although the star of 2022 is the James Webb Space Telescope, the Hubble Space Telescope, which has been the heart of all space enthusiasts for years, still continues to provide great images.
In a new image from the Hubble Space Telescope, we see a sequence of overlapping two galaxies 1 billion light-years from Earth. Let’s take a look at the importance of the photo and how it looks.
Two galaxies overlap and take the form of a snail
Two galaxies, SDSS J115331 and LEDA 2073461, floating in the darkness at a distance of 1 billion light-years, overlapped to reveal a shape resembling a golden snail. Although they appear on top of each other, the galaxies do not actually touch each other.
The reason why these two planets, which are so far apart, look like this, is purely a matter of perspective. For this reason, astronomers once again realized that they had to be much more careful when calculating distances in space.
If a miscalculation is made by being deceived by appearances in any way, this may result in a lot of scientifically incorrect data and perhaps mislead research.
