Trusted leak resource Digital Chat Station says the three Chinese tech giants have come together to achieve a common goal. We’re talking about Huawei, ZTE, and BOE, who joined forces to develop a foldable OLED display with an under-display camera.
It is reported that the first phone to be equipped with the aforementioned screen technology will be the foldable Huawei Mate X4. But let us remind you that the Mate X4 will not be the first foldable phone with an under-screen camera. This technology was previously used in the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4.
Samsung’s solution failed to meet expectations
While the camera of the South Korean company has difficulty meeting expectations, it is stated that brands such as Huawei, ZTE and BOE will solve this problem. ZTE’s Axon series pioneered under-display camera technology a few years ago. In addition, the system has been further developed over the last few generations.
The new OLED panel, called the Q8, will eventually eliminate the low photo quality problem of the camera hidden under the screen. The Chinese source adds that the new screen will have a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels and will use high-frequency 1,440 Hz PWM dimming technology.
