Announcing the HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system last week, Huawei confirmed that the Mate 50 family will be introduced in September. It is claimed that the Mate 50 models will not be powered by Huawei’s own chipset, HiSilicon Kirin.

Kirin 9000 stocks are not enough for Huawei Mate 50

Huawei wants to play in the high-end smartphone market again with the Mate 50 family. However, Huawei, which has stock problems in the Kirin chipset due to the sanctions imposed by the USA, may not be able to grow the Kirin 9000 series to its most powerful models.

Rumors that have emerged for a while have shown that the Huawei Mate 50 RS smartphone will be powered by the Kirin 9000S. However, it was stated that the production of the Kirin chipset of the Chinese company is “almost exhausted” and will prefer a different processor in its new flagship.

At the launch in September, three models are expected to be announced, namely the Huawei Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS. It is unclear which chipset Huawei will prefer for now, but possible leaks point to the presence of Snapdragon 888 for the Mate 50 Pro.

Images published on the Chinese social media platform Weibo revealed the design of the Mate 50 Pro. The Mate 50 Pro, which is stated to have a curved screen, seems to continue the tradition of notched screen.

The Mate 50 series, which will be presented with the HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system, will include some improvements by the camera. Huawei Image XMAGE technology, which is also included in the Honor 50 series, is expected to be found in these models.
