Big tech companies often get sued for infringing on each other’s patents. This time, two Chinese companies came face to face. Huawei has sued its arch-rival Xiaomi for infringing on four of its patents.Huawei, which has gone through a difficult time due to the strict embargoes that the USA has implemented for about four years, accuses another Chinese technology giant Xiaomi of stealing technology. The Chinese Intellectual Property Office was also involved in the lawsuit filed by the company in order to make the determinations.
Which patents have been infringed?
According to the information transferred, Huawei sued Xiaomi in January for patent infringement. Two of the four patents in dispute relate to unauthorized use of 4G/LTE technology. In addition, Huawei accuses the other party of using the panoramic image creation method.
The fourth patent concerns the violation of smartphone unlocking technology developed by Huawei. If Huawei manages to prove its case, Xiaomi may have to pay a hefty fine. We’ll see how the case goes.
