Huawei, which took a heavy blow in the global market after the sanctions that the USA started to apply in 2019, continues to be popular with its flagship phones, especially in its homeland of China. While the company’s next flagship, the Mate 50, has been eagerly awaited for two years, the expected announcement has come today.
Huawei announced when it will introduce the new flagship series Mate 50 in a post shared on China’s social media Weibo. The company announced that the new series of Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro will be introduced on September 6. In addition, a poster was shared for the new series.
Mate 50 poster shared by Huawei:
Huawei has not introduced a new flagship since the Mate 40 series it launched in 2020. Although the reason why we did not see a new Mate series last year was not officially announced, this was thought to be due to the sanctions imposed by the USA.
What will the Huawei Mate 50 offer? We don’t know anything yet:
No information is currently known about Huawei’s Mate 50 series. The only known detail about the phone is in the camera section. The company, which stopped its partnership with Leica in the past months, will this time include the lenses of the company called Xmage in the camera setup of its new flagship.
The Mate 50 series will not include Google services due to US sanctions. The company will use its own operating system, HarmonyOS, instead of Android. Uncertainty prevails in the processor part of the phone. It is not yet clear whether the company will even use its own Kirin processors.
