Huawei wants to sell business computers to government and companies
Speaking to industry giants at the 19th Global Analyst Summit, Huawei gave signals that it wants to expand its computer business. Statements from Huawei since last week include PC operations; It reflects plans to expand to sell to governments and businesses as well.
It was stated that the Chinese technology giant will carry out special operations in various sectors from education to health, from production to transportation. In some industries, including finance and energy, customers will be offered specialized laptops, desktops, monitors, tablets, printers, smart displays and wearables.
Actually, it’s hardly surprising that Huawei is expanding its computer operation professionally. According to reports, Huawei devices have managed to reach more than 25,000 government and corporate customers in China, even if the company is not yet on target.
Huawei also announced that it has previously developed Arm-based Kunpeng CPU and Kunpeng-specific motherboards. For now, it is unclear what role the Kunpeng processor, which is placed only on devices in China, will play in this change. The company did not say whether Kunpeng would lead the new operation.
Huawei’s revenues were hit hard after the US sanctions. Earnings reports noted that company revenue fell 28.5 percent year-on-year between 2020 and 2021. Huawei also had to sell both its 5G operations and its sub-brands like Honor.
