Chinese technology giant Huawei has been coming out with unexpected phone promotions lately. The company had recently launched the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro. In the past hours, it introduced the Mate 60 Pro +, which will be included in this series.
The company added a new one to its announcements today and introduced its new flagship foldable phone, the Mate X5. The device came as a successor to the Mate X3, which was introduced in March.
Here’s the Mate X5!
The phone, named X5 instead of Mate X4, comes with very similar features to the previous generation in terms of design. The device includes a 7.85-inch LTPO OLED main screen and a 6.4-inch LTPO OLED cover screen used when folded. Both screens offer a 120 Hz refresh rate. Let’s say that the second generation Kunlun glass, which is resistant to falling, is used on the screen.
When we look at the front, we encounter the perforated camera design. An 8 MP camera is used here. On the back, there is a triple camera setup with 50 MP main, 13 MP ultra wide angle and 12 MP periscope telephoto camera.
The new foldable phone will come with the new Kirin 9000s processor, which is said to support 5G connection. This chipset was also used in the Mate 60 series, which the company recently introduced. Apart from these, Mate X5 will have 12/16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage option.
On the battery side, we see a 5000 mAh battery. The battery comes with support for 66W wired, 50W wireless and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. The device, which will also offer two-way satellite messaging in China with the help of BeiDou satellite connection, comes out of the box with HarmonyOS 4.
Mate X5 will be available in white, black, gold, green and purple color options. We should also point out that it has an IP68 water and dust resistance certificate. Huawei did not announce the prices of the device, whose sales will start on September 15 in China. There is no information about whether it will be sold outside China.
