The first results have emerged for Singles’ Day sales in China, which surpassed even Black Friday sales. Accordingly, Apple’s iPhone 15 sales in China shrank compared to last year. However, two Chinese giants, Huawei Mate 60 series and Xiaomi, left their mark on Singles’ Day with their 14 series.
Chinese Singles’ Day and Huawei Mate 60, Xiaomi 14 and iPhone 15 sales
Are Apple’s days of leadership in the Chinese market behind us? In this sense, although iPhone 15 sales have generally gone well, there is a loss of blood in the Chinese market. Singles’ Day sales results, one of the biggest discount days in China and the world, have been revealed.
Accordingly, Apple’s iPhone 15 sales decreased by 6 percent compared to the same Singles’ Day sales last year. However, on the Huawei and Xiaomi side, things are going the opposite way. Accordingly, Huawei recorded a growth of 66 percent and Xiaomi a growth of 23 percent.
Apple and Tim Cook actually made good preparations for this discount day. For iPhone 15 sales, which are already declining in China, Cook created campaigns for Chinese internet giants. Chinese Singles’ Day has become an online shopping craze, especially in recent years. Although it is a good move in this sense, there are certain reasons for Apple’s sales decline in China.
One of these is, of course, the embargo imposed on Huawei. However, despite this embargo in previous years, iPhone sales were at a very good level. In fact, iPhone has been the sole ruler of the market since the embargo. However, according to Chinese experts, both the increasingly severe embargo conditions and the fact that Huawei produced its own 5G processor changed everything.
Especially in the Far East market, 5G has been an important reason for purchase for the last three years. In this sense, Huawei’s sales were also affected by the embargo on not being able to import 5G processors. It is possible that Xiaomi has reached a new level in terms of both design and hardware with the 14 series, taking Chinese smartphone manufacturers one step forward.
Apple’s biggest problem that is currently sabotaging its sales is supply problems. Accordingly, Apple is experiencing major problems with the supply of iPhone 15 even in China. In this sense, consumers are turning to competitors instead of waiting in line for the iPhone 15.
So, what is this Singles’ Day? It is currently the world’s largest single-day shopping campaign. The day, which first appeared as an alternative to Valentine’s Day in 1999, takes place on November 11th. The main reason for this is the 11/11 combination, that is, all the ones coming together.
