The Chinese brand has officially announced that a special update is being prepared for the foldable Huawei Mate Xs 2. The new firmware will add Beidou satellite link support to the device. The company says it will reveal details about the update at its HDC2022 developer conference on November 5.
May be disabled for testing
Although this feature of the Mate Xs 2 model will be enabled with software, it seems that it has been hardware integrated into the device before. Presumably the company had disabled the satellite link due to ongoing testing. It looks like it’s ready to use now.
The foldable phone is equipped with a 7.8-inch display with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G platform, the screen of the device reaches 6.5 inches when closed and 7.8 inches when opened. Huawei Mate Xs 2 debuted in April this year.
