Taiwan-based smartphone and virtual reality glasses manufacturer HTC has made a new partnership to create 3D anime avatars in the metaverse.

HTC announced in a press release that it will be working with a Japan-based virtual artist community platform to create a Japanese anime-style 3D avatar on metaverse platform VIVERSE.

HTC Will Evolve In The Metaverse Realm

HTC’s metaverse project VIVERSE continues to come up frequently with new partnerships and products. Finally, Joseph Lin, president of VIVERSE, made some statements on this subject. Lin stated that the new project will meet many needs.

“The partnership with Pixiv will rapidly increase the number of virtual characters in VIVERSE. It will significantly meet the needs of users who prefer anime and manga styles.”

VIVERSE is a metaverse project introduced by HTC in March of this year. Last month, the company launched its first metaverse platform-supported smartphone, Desire 22, to present its users.

Vroid, on the other hand, is a project introduced by Pixiv in 2018 that allows interested users to customize 3D characters. According to the statement, Pixiv currently produces more than 10,000 avatars per day.

Pixiv, which currently has more than 81 million users, is known as a website that focuses on Japanese style illustration, anime, manga style with more than 100 million works. Further details of the project on the subject were not disclosed. We will keep you informed when it is announced.
