Metaverse continues to make a name for itself with the involvement of large companies. After introducing the metaverse-focused smartphone HTC Desire 22 Pro last month, it has now signed with Pixiv for this sector.

New deal from HTC for Metaverse

Taiwan-based smartphone maker HTC is partnering with Pixiv to launch anime-style 3D avatars on its metaverse platform, VIVERSE.

VIVERSE President Joseph Lin stated that the partnership with Pixiv will rapidly increase the number of characters on the platform. He added that it will meet the needs of users who also prefer anime and manga styles.

VRoid, the 3D project launched by Pixiv in 2018 that allows users to customize 3D characters, currently produces more than 10,000 avatars per day.

According to the press release, Pixiv has more than 81 million users and over 100 million works of art. Focusing on Japanese-style illustration, manga and fiction, Pixiv aims to reach more users by entering the metaverse field.
