PlayStation 5 has managed to become popular among gamers with its fast loading times and innovative controller. However, the large size of the console made it difficult to find a place to put it. It looks like Sony will solve this problem with a mid-generation refresh called the PlayStation 5 Slim. A new leak may have revealed the first render of the alleged game console.
An image that reached the A9VG forums and posted on X by Andrew Marmo gives us an idea of what the new PlayStation Slim 5 design might look like. While Sony seems to have stayed fairly faithful to the current design, there are a few notable changes. First, there is black slit on both sides of the case.

It’s hard to tell from the image if there are any changes in dimensions as well. However, Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson claimed that the PlayStation 5 Slim will only have “dimensions with minor differences.”
When will the PlayStation 5 Slim arrive?
According to a leaked Microsoft document, the PlayStation 5 Slim could be released later this year. In the document, Microsoft clearly mentions that Sony is preparing to release a thinned version of the PlayStation 5 in 2023. There is also information on pricing. The new version is planned to have a price tag of just $399.
The options currently available are the $399 PS5 Digital Edition, which comes without a disc drive, and the $499 PS5, which has an internal drive.
