READING NOW How will the “always-on display” feature of the iPhone 14 Pro be? New leak responds

Based on the code found in iOS 16 and tips from reputable sources, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to feature Always On Display (AOD). And now, a few more details about it have leaked and it’s revealed how it will look and work.

According to the new leak, the widgets will be visible on the lock screen when always-on mode is enabled, and will include effects such as fading and fading imperceptibly to prevent screen burn-in. For lock screen wallpapers with depth effect, the effect will be removed and darkened in always on mode. The foreground will be faded and colored, with some user-customizable highlights.

Settings like wallpaper, colors, fonts, and widgets seem to be kept consistent between the always-on lock screen and the fully lit lock screen, so you won’t be able to set different options for the two different operating modes.

Notifications will appear on the always-on display, rolling from the bottom as they arrive, according to new information. It looks like there may be a notification counter at the bottom of the screen. Moreover, the status bar will be rearranged to take advantage of the extra space created by the pill-shaped cutout.

We’ll find out for sure at Apple’s event on Wednesday, September 7th.
