How to play Taboo?
Step #1: Divide into two teams A and B:
Two teams are required to play taboo. It doesn’t matter how many of these teams are, but the number of both teams must be equal. Team selection is entirely at the discretion of the players. You can be divided into teams in different ways, such as girls – boys, couples, juniors – adults.
Step #2: Let a person in team A open a card without showing it to other people in his team:
After splitting into teams A and team B, by rolling dice, flipping a coin or using a different method, whichever You can choose which team will start. Let’s say team A starts first. There are 504 cards in the middle of the taboo game. These cards are shuffled nicely and laid face down. The first person from suit A to start takes some of these cards.
At this point, it is necessary to open a parenthesis. The narrator only needs to see the cards to be told: Therefore, it is recommended to take a certain amount of cards in his hand. Step #5: Let the same person continue to explain the cards in order until the time runs out:
As the narrator tells the main word in accordance with the rules, if his team knows that word, that card is written to the digit. If the team does not know the narrator’s word, the narrator either continues to tell or passes to the other card by saying a pass. The narrator cannot tell the card he called a pass again in that round. The card is placed at the bottom and the game continues in this way.
Step #6: When the time is up, it’s the turn of the opposing team:
The time limit in taboo game is a rule relaxed by the players. The hourglass from some Taboo boxes can be used or kept for a certain time with a stopwatch. The duration of the taboo is generally 1 minute. However, if you want the tour to be a little longer, you can set this time as 2 minutes or more. The important thing is that both teams use equal time.
The round that started with Team A continues with Team B when the time expires. The rules are the same. A person from team B takes some of the down cards, when he opens the card, the time starts, he tells his team without saying the main word and forbidden words, a person from team A checks the rules, known cards are counted as points, unknown passes are passed and the card that violates the rules is voided.
Step #7: At the end of the game, the points are collected and the winner is revealed:
In the taboo game, the endgame is also determined by the players’ decision. Under normal circumstances, the game is over when each person on both teams has told. However, players can ask each person to tell twice, or to do 10 rounds in total, for example. This is determined by the players before the game.
After the game is over, the number of known cards is added up in each turn. Passed and canceled cards count as neither minus nor plus. Whichever team has the higher number of known cards, ie the total points, is considered the winner. If there is a tie, the winner is determined by playing one more round.
