The hardware we call video card or graphics card are units that enable computers to display images on monitors. They can be structurally integrated into the motherboard or processor. These are called onboard graphics cards. Those that are sold separately or that are not integrated are called discrete graphics cards.
Another difference between them is that the external ones have their own memory. For this reason, in most scenarios, they do not use the memory in your device’s system unless it is needed. Internal ones, on the other hand, use as much RAM as they need in the computers. So how can we find out how many GB it is?
How to learn graphics card specifications?
- 1. method
- Enter the start menu.
- Type dxdiag in the search field and click on the application icon that appears.
- On this page, we see all the information about the device.
- Here, the value displayed in MB as DisplayMemory or Video Memory (VRAM) is the amount of video card memory.
- 2. method
- Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop.
- Then select Display Settings.
- Click Display Adapter Properties in the menu that opens.
- Reserved Video Memory, one of the features we come across here, will show the video card memory.
- 3. method
- Click here to download the GPU-Z application.
- Install the exe file you downloaded.
- Open the TechPowerUp GPU-Z application.
- You can see the name of your graphics card at the top and its specifications below.
- Memory Size, on the other hand, will display the video card memory.
