Apple introduced the long-awaited iPhone 14 phone lineup at its latest event. Although the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus did not create much excitement, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models looked different, especially with the A16 Bionic processor. However, it was not clear how this processor performed.
Although there has been a lot of talk about new features like the Always On Display and Dynamic Island, Apple hasn’t gone into too much detail about the performance of the A16 Bionic chipset powering the top models. The company simply said that the A16’s CPU performance is significantly better than 2019’s A13. However, the A15 was never mentioned, although it is implied that the difference is probably not huge.
AnTuTu shared some performance results about iPhone 14 models to satisfy our curiosity. Only the data of the Pro and Pro Max models have been announced, as the A16 Bionic is only available in these two models. The left image below is of the iPhone 14 Pro, while the right image shows the iPhone 14 Pro Max:
AnTuTu also compared the A16’s scores with the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max powered by the A15 Bionic to measure the improvement in the A16 Bionic. In GPU performance, the A16 shows an increase of close to 30% compared to the A15. CPU performance increase is almost non-existent. However, since Apple did not even mention the A15 in its own promotion, this difference was expected to be small.
