House of the Dragon Season 2 Officially Confirmed

The Game of Thrones universe, which we said goodbye to in 2019, has recently returned to the screens with House of the Dragon. This return caused a great sensation in the world. While social media was sharing about the first episode of the series, the series became the most successful production of HBO.

Today, the expected statement about the series, whose first episode has just been published, came as a surprise. HBO has officially confirmed the second season of the series. Making a statement with the approval of the second season of the series, HBO’s senior official Francesca Orsi shared that they are proud of the work the team has done with the first season. Orsi’s explanation was as follows:

“It has become a must watch TV series already”

“We are proud of what the entire House of the Dragon team has accomplished in season one. Our outstanding cast and crew put up a great fight and surpassed all expectations and has already established itself as a must-watch TV series. A big thank you to George, Ryan and Miguel for leading us on this journey. We are extremely excited to continue bringing the saga of the Targaryen dynasty to life with season two.”

Shooting House of the Dragon is 5 times cheaper than shooting Game of Thrones:

The first 10-episode season of House of the Dragon cost the company a total of $20 million, according to figures shared by HBO sources. This number was an average of $100 million for each season of Game of Thrones. The average cost per episode was $6 million when Game of Thrones first came out, while this number increased to $15 million in the last season. We will see whether a similar increase will occur in House of the Dragon in the coming years.
