House of Representatives Maxine Waters commended Sam Bankman-Fried’s “candid” comments and invited her to the committee session.

Financial Services Committee Chairman Maxine Waters said that SBF had made candid comments regarding FTX’s collapse and therefore invited him to a committee hearing on December 13.

Making the statement on his Twitter account, Waters said:

“We appreciate your candor in your comments about what happened at FTX. Your willingness to speak to the public will help the company’s customers, investors, and others. To this end, we welcome you to attend our hearing on 13 December.”

SBF announced that he is stepping down from his CEO position at FTX after filing for bankruptcy last month.

SBF shared various posts on Twitter and made statements to media outlets to make sense of what caused the collapse of the crypto company since the day he resigned. He said he did not remember the details of how he had run the company in recent days.

The former CEO of FTX did not say anything about Waters’ invitation, although he said he could attend future congressional sessions.
