House of Representatives Maxine Waters said SBF, former CEO of FTX, should testify.
Waters said he did not believe Sam Bankman-Fried’s excuse for not testifying at a hearing next week under the auspices of the Financial Services Committee.

“Based on your role as CEO and your media interviews over the past few weeks, it is clear to us that the information you have so far is sufficient for testimony,” committee chair Waters said of the SBF. While making this statement, Waters referred to the interviews given by the SBF.
The SBF said in a statement yesterday that it will testify “when it has finished learning and reviewing what happened.” According to him, this may not happen until the hearing on 13 December.
Waters emphasized that he found the SBF’s statements sincere and therefore expected him to testify at the session.
SBF also gave an interview stating that the statements of the new CEO of FTX do not reflect the truth.
