Honor introduced its second folding smartphone today. The device, whose official name is Honor Magic Vs, will be available in global markets in the first quarter of 2023, unlike the first model. Honor’s new folding smartphone model Magic Vs is powered by Qualcomm’s Snadpragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. The phone comes with 12GB RAM 256GB storage, 12GB RAM 512GB storage and 8GB RAM 256GB storage options.
Magic Vs, which comes with a pen called Magic Pen, which can be connected to a foldable screen via Bluetooth connection, carries a 7.9-inch, 2272 x 1984 pixel resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 800 nits OLED screen on the inside. On the display side, there seems to be no improvement compared to the first Magic V model. It offers a 6.45-inch OLED external display, 2560 x 1080 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support. Both panels are 10 bits; that is, it offers more than 1 billion colors.
Honor says that the new hinge is carefully prepared with one-piece processing technology, and the fold will not be visible. The company states that while significantly reducing the number of parts, durability and robustness are preserved. According to tests carried out in Honor laboratories, the hinge, consisting of 4 parts, can withstand more than 400,000 folds per day.
Honor Magic Vs has a triple camera setup consisting of a 54MP Sony IMX800 (f/1.9) main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The selfie camera on the cover screen has 16MP and f/2.45 aperture. No information was shared about the interior camera.
The Magic Vs folding phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 66w fast charging. Honor says that the phone’s charge level reaches from 0% to 100% in 46 minutes. The phone, which comes with the Android 12 operating system customized with MagicOS 7.0, has three color options: Orange, Cyan and Black.
