Honor CEO Zhao Ming made some statements to the press about the company’s expectations in the smartphone market. According to the experienced manager, Honor aims to be the industry leader. However, the Chinese manufacturer chose Apple as a competitor, not Xiaomi or Samsung.

Zhao Ming said that Apple smartphones have poor hardware and outdated design compared to many Android phones, including the Magic 5 series. Honor’s boss also added that iPhones, unlike many Android devices, do not provide good battery life.

Apple is preferred only for iOS

Stating that users choose Apple mainly because of the iOS operating system and the ecosystem it provides, Zhao Ming stated that they aim to develop MagicOS to be better than iOS. “It’s like iOS covers all of Apple’s shortcomings and problems,” Ming said in-line.

The biggest goal of the Chinese company for the future is to reach a level that can compete with iOS. Honor is committed to providing an experience that will outshine not only iOS, but also Huawei’s HarmonyOS. We will see together whether the Chinese manufacturer can achieve this.
