With the rise of Vlog content in recent years, users started to need more advanced technology on smartphones to create more creative content. Global smart device manufacturer HONOR discussed the new technology, design and consumer trends in the market in the panel it organized based on the rise of Vlog content in China. In the panel, attention was drawn to the increasing use of smartphones in recent years for consumers to express themselves better, and it was mentioned that more importance was given to design and video shooting features on the phone than ever before. At the event attended by HONOR’s Chief Designer Yuan Ze, the design adventure of HONOR 50 was also told.
Yuan Ze, Chief Designer of HONOR, said, “We see that consumers are turning to new experiences with their smartphone preferences in order to reflect their personalities more clearly. In light of this development, when designing HONOR 50, we turned to different colors that we believe can best reflect their unique style, rather than traditional colors. We were determined to create a striking and stylish design for the HONOR 50 smartphones from the very first day. Our aim was to move away from traditional colors in order to catch the design trends and fashion that changes every day in today’s world. It distinguishes itself from its competitors with its design.”
“It was not easy for our design and engineering team to achieve this look,” Yuan Ze continues. “We wanted to create a premium look and feel using the perfect combination of glass, polymer materials and films. Although this journey took around 12 months, we are proud to offer consumers a device that combines premium craftsmanship with a range of sophisticated colors and designs.”
The HONOR 50 allows users to switch between the front and rear cameras while shooting using multiple video shooting modes. Meanwhile, content creators who can shoot from multiple perspectives with an advanced camera that offers a one-shot recording technique; now they can document and express their true feelings, experiences and identities in real time and establish more meaningful connections with their audience.
With this perspective, HONOR applied the Frost Crystal color, which is inspired by snow crystals and offers a diamond-like appearance, in the HONOR 50 model. In addition to the Frost Crystal colour, HONOR 50 comes in Emerald Green and Midnight Black options.
