Hitman 3 drowned in negative reviews on Steam
As you know, Epic Games Store has been following a very aggressive policy since it entered the market to rival Valve and Steam. Epic Games, which has been trying to attract users with free games and campaigns for almost 2 years, also has a policy called ‘time special games’. Accordingly, Epic, by making an agreement with some game makers, prevents games from being released on Steam for a while.
A similar agreement was signed between Epic Games and IO Interactive for Hitman 3, which was released in January 2021. Accordingly, Hitman 3 would only be available on the Epic Games Store for a year. After a year, the production, which was also offered for sale on Steam this week, was angered by the minus votes of the players. The main reason for this is that Hitman 3 was added to the Xbox Game Pass subscription system during the week it went on sale.
Hitman 3’s Steam page has 377 reviews as of now, and the majority of these reviews are listed as ‘Negative’. Although players like the gameplay and story of Hitman 3, they state that IO Interactive does not care about Steam players and has adopted a rather unsuccessful business model. The last three games of the series are currently available for free to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. It should be noted that additional packages and content are not included in this trilogy.
