Since Apple first introduced the original iPhone model in 2007, the fastest and most powerful processors on the market have been used in smartphones. So much so that he was two years ahead of even his closest competitor. However, according to the latest leaks, the iPhone 15 series, which will be introduced next September, will fall behind its Android rival for the first time in Apple’s history.
Hard to believe but true: Galaxy S24 will surpass iPhone 15!
Before moving on to the comparison of the Galaxy S24 with the iPhone 15, let’s see if Samsung and other brands have really caught up with Apple after 15 years. Currently, the most performing chip used on the Android side is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. On iOS, it’s the A16 Bionic. Among the two, Apple’s chip stands out in most areas. So will this change?
No, it will not change. Apple will use the A17 Bionic processor in the Pro models of its smartphones next year. This chip will also go through TSMC’s N3E manufacturing process. In fact, it will continue to be the strongest on the market. However, Apple now uses the Pro processors of the previous series in its non-Pro models. So the flat iPhone 15 and Plus model will use the A16 Bionic. So, will Samsung get ahead in this way?
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will surpass A17 Bionic!
Samsung will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in the Galaxy S24. This is where things get interesting. Because this chip will offer 50 percent higher performance on the GPU side compared to the Adreno 740, which is a little faster than the A16 Bionic GPU in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which we define as the best in the current situation. The predecessor of this new graphics unit, which will be called the Adreno 750, will go one step further, truly surpassing the A17 Bionic, as it closes the gap with Apple.
Of course, all of the developments we mentioned will take place in the GPU, that is, in the graphics unit of the chip. Because we are still at least 1 year behind Apple on the CPU side, we expect to see results that will perform head-to-head with the A16 Bionic. However, we can clearly remember the events a few years ago, when Apple said that our closest competitor was 2 years behind us. We can say that this difference is gradually closing.
