Today, smart phones create added value in daily life with the ease of use they offer. Undoubtedly, technology and functionality are among the main factors that determine how users perceive a smartphone. However, the design of a smartphone, from its color to its material, from its fine workmanship to its form, creates a permanent bond between the user and the phone. OPPO believes that for a design to be outstanding it must meet three different criteria. The first and most basic of these; that the design should attract users with striking colors and unique forms. Second, the design of the product should meet the needs of users in order to provide a comfortable experience. After these two criteria are met, the third criterion is that the design creates additional value for the smartphone owner.
These three levels of design have been the driving force of OPPO’s approach while producing the popular Reno series smartphones. OPPO combines innovative technology with trendy designs to refresh the consumer experience with every new product. The recently launched Reno 6 model is also a product of the same approach. OPPO aims to energize the appearance of the smartphone by using the latest technology and to be user-friendly.
Shiny matte surface with OPPO Reno Glow effect
OPPO’s original Reno Glow effect has been an important part of the design in the Reno Series and has been further developed in each new series.
The Reno Glow effect, which gives the anti-reflective glass a thin, shimmering appearance, has been developed to make the product even brighter and sparkling. In the new Reno6 model, for the first time, all colors, including the Ice Blue and Star Black color coatings, are decorated with the sparkling Reno Glow effect.
Ever-changing Ice Blue
The new Reno6 model comes in a brand new color finish, Ice Blue. Created using an enhanced version of the OPPO-exclusive Diamond Spectrum process, this color is located under the Reno Glow on the back of the smartphone. When viewed from different angles and under different lights, Diamond Spectrum creates an ever-changing color effect, further enhanced by the crystalline shine of the Reno Glow effect.
The Diamond Spectrum process was used for the first time on the silver colored models of the Reno5 Series. Now two more layers have been added to the process, bringing the total number of layers to five. These consist of Bullet Texture Layer, PICASUS Film, Color Film, Fresnel Lens Texture and Reflective Indium Coating. Compared to the previous generation Diamond Spectrum, the newly added Color Film adds blue and green hues to the base color. Bullet Texture strengthens transparency. When all these layers come together, an amazing visual effect is created behind the Ice Blue color.
High quality balanced with comfort
In the Reno6 model, OPPO aimed to create a weight / thickness balance in order to be most compatible with users’ habits. Based on technological research and consumer surveys, OPPO has determined the 7 – 8 millimeter range as the optimal thickness to provide a better user experience on smartphones. As for the weight; A weight of around 175g also seems ideal. While this weight gives the user a sense of high quality and durability, it does not cause problems such as accidentally dropping the phone.
OPPO is constantly optimizing the use of components and their placement within the product to ensure the thin, light and high-quality body of the Reno6 model. The result of these improvements is a product that can be easily held with one hand, fits easily in a pocket and can be used for a long time without feeling tired.
OPPO Reno design language
Words that describe a design such as ‘thin’, ‘light’, ‘bright’ and ‘gradient’ now bring to mind the Reno Series. Looking to the future, OPPO intensifies its work to continuously improve the Reno Glow process, adding even more creative visuals to its matte and shimmery look. With these improvements, the design language of the Reno Series will continue to be passed on to the next generation devices, and in the process, innovative advances will be made to basic design features, creating a better user experience through design.
