After Apple’s A17 Pro processor, questions began to be asked whether the era of Android gaming phones is over. Especially the arrival of console games to the iPhone 15 Pro model may change all balances. However, the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate Geekbench result reveals that the Android side is not far behind. In this sense, the Geekbench 6 result for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has also emerged. Especially in multi-core performance, A17 Pro is about to lose its throne.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 revealed itself for the first time with ASUS ROG Phone 8 Ultimate Geekbench score
ASUS ROG Phone 8 Ultimate Geekbench score appeared for the first time with the Geekbench 6 result of the 8 Gen 3 processor. As you know, there were previous rumors that the processor reached 7400 points in multi-core performance.
Today, ASUS ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 7048 Geekbench result, shared for the first time, appeared. This performance, of course, occurs in multi-core operations.
On the other hand, the Geekbench multi-core score of the A17 Pro processor in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models is 7238. In other words, the differences of thousands between the two processor families in previous generations have been closed. In the single core score, 8 Gen 3 is at the level of 2213. In this sense, Pro Max has a very high score of 2908. The Geekbench result, which was previously seen at the 7400 level, has not appeared yet. Maybe we can see a result at this level in a model that uses higher RAM.
Of course, the name of the processor is not mentioned in the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Ultimate Geekbench result leaked here. However, judging by the results, the processor has 1+5+2 architecture. As you know, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor has 1 high-performance Cortex-X4 core with a clock speed of 3.19 GHz. In addition to this core, we will encounter five Cortex-A720 performance cores with a clock speed of 2.96 GHz. In addition, it will come with two Cortex-A520 efficiency cores with a clock speed of 2.27 GHz. Again, although the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Ultimate features are not yet known, it appears in the test results that it will power this processor with at least 16 GB of RAM.
The number of cores and clock speeds stated in the test result exactly match these. All this shows us that, for the first time, the gap between Snapdragon and Apple processors has closed. Qualcomm’s production of a new 8 Gen 3 with a 3 nm fabrication process may change the size of the business. As you know, official leaks in this direction appeared yesterday. However, it is known that TSMC is working with Apple in the 3nm fabrication process. If these news are true, the details will appear very soon.
