Earlier this week, Heather Morgan and her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, were accused of laundering $4.5 billion worth of bitcoin stolen from the 2016 hacked cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex. The Ministry of Justice announced the seizure of $3.6 billion worth of Bitcoin linked to the attack.

According to VICE News, Morgan-created rap album NFTs no longer appear on OpenSea. The person who bought the NFT with the username Cancellopensea.eth isn’t too happy about this.

The two NFTs in question are Morgan’s Razzlekhan, “Versace Bedouin” and “Social Distance” They were album covers of many rap videos such as

The OpenSea profiles of both Morgan and Lichtenstein are no longer visible. However, blockchain records show that the NFTs in question were processed by an Ethereum address linked to Heather Morgan to the address associated with Cancellopensea.eth.

The Department of Justice’s criminal complaint described the couple as engaging in a “various array of virtual currencies”, including purchasing NFTs. No NFT marketplaces are named in the document.

This is not the first time OpenSea has removed NFTs from its platform. In August last year, Pepe the Frog Meme NFTs were removed due to a copyright dispute.

What Happened to Morgan’s NFTs?

Morgan’s NFTs were released on OpenSea and acquired by the buyer, the same day Morgan and his wife were arrested.

Two NFTs were purchased for 10 ETH, currently worth around $300.

The OpenSea profile of the person who bought the NFT is no longer viewable. It is unknown what NFTs are.

NFT receiver said;

“At first I was just curious about ETH transactions… but then he saw two ‘album covers’ NFTs that he had printed about a month ago. I thought it was part of crypto history. That’s why I bought them.”
