Indonesian university student Sultan Gustaf el Gozali converted the selfies he took for 5 years into NFT and put them up for sale. According to the news of Independant from Channel News Asia, Gözali sold his photos to ETH (Ethereum) worth 1 million dollars in the digital market.

According to the news, Gozali took a picture of himself sitting and standing in front of his computer almost every day for the last 5 years. His goal was to make a time-lapse video of 1,000 photos. Gozali prepared that video and posted it on his Youtube channel with the note “I took my own photo every day for 5 years”.

Then he converted his photos to NFT and put them up for sale. “I didn’t think anyone would want to buy these selfies, so I set their price at just $3,” Gozali said.

However, sales exploded when Arnold Poernomo, a popular name in the crypto community and across the country, saw the photos and shared them on his social media account. Over the next few days, more than 400 people bought photos. With the increase in demand, the price of the photos went up to 0.247 ETH ($806).

Finally, the trading volume of Gozali’s collection reached 317 ETH on January 14, which equates to at least $1 million.

“To be honest, I still don’t have the courage to tell my family, they wonder where I got the money,” Gozali said.
